Updated Classic

This traditional 1940s era Cape Cod style was picture perfect from the street when our clients, a young couple with two small kids, purchased it. Unfortunately, its perfection ended once you entered its dated interior and left much to be desired. Nevertheless, our clients moved forward with the idea that they would eventually paint a few walls and perhaps add a master bedroom suite. Instead, what ensued was a fourteen month long gut renovation of the entire home “down to the studs” where every surface was updated and every space re-conceived.

We were charged with re-designing all the interior architectural features including bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, kitchen, millwork and trim.  After the renovations were completed, a bold mix of modern furnishings, tried and true classics and bold modern artwork was employed throughout the home’s traditional backdrop providing an interesting design dialogue. This home remains timelessly classic and somehow modern all at the same time.
